We have been working so hard learning our letters! Everyone can recognize their own name, and a few children are recognizing the other children's names. It has really been a blast watching the children recognize letters not only at circle time, but throughout the day. When we read a book, I have been pointing out the letters in the title and asking what letter it is. You can do this at home too. They like to see the letters that start their name and the other children's name too. (A is for Anna, B is for Brooks, C is for Charlie and so on)
We are still working hard with our numbers too. The children have done well counting different objects. We have been practicing reading the numbers and matching the numbers too. You can practice at home as well. The children love practicing with edible items. All you need is a hand full of any snack and a couple small pieces of paper. Write down the number, ask your child what number it is and have them count that amount of the snack.
