Puzzles are so much fun!

Alyvia is fixing the climber with tools!

Snack time!

Penguin Snacks

We have been talking and reading about Penguins in the 2's Class.  We love talking about where they live and what they eat.

Here are some fun snacks that you can make at home to continue the Penguin discussion!  They are very easy and a lot of fun to put together.

Ice Igloo

Here is a fun activity that we will be doing in the 2's Class that you can do at home.  All you need is just a little paint and ice!

Supplies: water, empty plastic fruit cups and paint.

Directions: First you carefully fill up the empty plastic containers with water and place them  in the freezer.  When they are frozen, pop them out onto a surface you do not mind getting wet.  Then you can paint them.

Assessments

Dear Parents,
I wanted to inform you that I am working on assessments with the children.  I have an ASQ that I am sending home with a picture of your child on it.  Please take some time to fill it out and return it to school.  If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
I also have a teacher checklist that I will be completing for each child.  The checklist and the ASQ will help me to better plan activities that will help the children grow and get ready for the 3’s Classroom.  If you would like a copy of my checklist, I can make a copy and send it home for you.
Also feel free to explore the Ages and Stages for Two Year Olds: http://www.extension.iastate.edu/Publications/PM1530D.pdf
and Ages and Stages for Three Year Olds: http://www.extension.iastate.edu/Publications/PM1530E.pdf
They will give you examples of what your child should be doing or attempting to do at their age.  Remember, if you ever have any questions or concerns, you can email me any time.

Thank you and God Bless,

Miss Amanda B.

A week in review

We have had a busy week in the 2's Classroom!  We were learning and having so much fun.  Here are some pictures from our week.
(I do not have many outdoor pictures, but we were able to make it outside almost every day this week!)

Here we are having dinner with all of our stuffed animal children!

We all love making pictures with stickers!

How many blocks can fit on your tower?

Time to sort the bugs!  We can count them and put them into piles.
We also can name all of their colors!

Who can find a match?

Stringing our pictures takes a lot of concentration!

Chloe had a birthday and shared ice cream and rice crispy treats with us!

Time for some rec room fun!

Who would like to play ponies?

We practiced our colors by making a color collage!

We are always so excited to go outside!
