We have been practicing spelling our names too; some of the children can spell their names all by themselves! You can practice names at home too. Write down your child's name and point to each letter as you say it. It is so exciting to see them remember the different letters of their name!
We have also been doing spotlight time during circle time. Each child gets a turn to show or teach everyone something. For example, one child wanted to sing us all a song, and another child wanted to show everyone some jumping moves. Spotlight time gives each child a turn to have all the children and teachers focusing on them. It also helps to teach the children to wait for a turn, since only one child can be talking at a time.
Ask your child, what did you teach everyone at circle time today and maybe they will teach you something new too!
