Fun color games

The other teachers and I are working on two new games to help the children practice their colors, shapes and counting.

You can also make the new games to play at home for more practice.

You will need:
colored paper, paper plates, glue, colored objects (that can fit in a paper towel tube) and paper towel tubes.

Below is a picture and directions for the game:

Paper plate game:
First you need to cut one paper plate into 6 triangles.  Then draw 6 triangles on a second plate.  Next cut out different shapes that are different colors.  Glue the shapes onto both the cut paper plate and the other plate.  Once they are dry you are ready to play!  You can have your child match shapes, colors or number of items.

Paper Towel Tube Game:
First you need to cut each tube in half.  Then cover each tube with colored paper.  When you are done, find different colored objects that can fit into the tubes (We use colored cotton balls).  Have your child sort the items into different colors and they can drop them into the tubes.  It is a lot of fun!
